Rick and Taryn

Rick and Taryn first teamed up in 2001 and have since entertained as a duo at five-star hotels in the Middle East and aboard Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises.

Rick was born in the Caribbean and is based in Toronto, Canada, where he is well known for his versatility in performing jazz, R&B, Latin, calypso, reggae and the classics. Over the past 20 years, Rick has toured major Canadian cities, performing in clubs and at music festivals such as Du Maurier and the Beaches festivals. During the early '80s, while Rick was writing and recording his own music in Vienna, Austria, he had the opportunity to perform with Chaka Khan. He has appeared at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival, entertained guests at Antigua's major hotels and played in the more intimate setting of the piano bars of the Sandals Resort Hotel. Rick has also performed on Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Regent cruises.

Taryn hails from Cape Town, South Africa. She is classically trained and has experience in both musical theatre and opera. She was a featured soloist in Andrew Lloyd Webber productions of Evita, Phantom of the Opera, and Tell Me on a Sunday. In the mid-'90s, she toured South Africa with a Cape Town-based Latin band and then formed a two-woman duo performing jazz, Latin, reggae, R&B, musical theatre, dance and the music from the '40s to the '80s. In 2004, Taryn performed in the Cape Town Opera's production of La Traviata.
